Busser / Food Runner

Restaurant bussers / food runners are responsible for supporting the front of house service area in our restaurant. This includes assisting servers, bartenders, and supervisors with clearing tables, running food, and maintaining cleanliness.

Pay: $12/hour + tip share

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Setup the expedition area at the beginning of each and every shift

- General cleanliness and upkeep of physical space

- Communicate with management, servers, and host in regard to any menu

changes throughout service

- Maintain customer non-alcoholic beverage refills

- Deliver food to the correct tables and positions as needed

- Replenish food and condiments to table when needed

- Remove dishes from tables, bar area and bus tubs as need

- Restock clean dishes and silverware

- Prepare dishes for dishwashing by scraping food and stacking according to type

- Clean spilled food and drink as needed

- Complete side duties as required including restaurant setup and breakdown, trash duties and miscellaneous cleaning duties

- Responsible for constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling

- Prepares work area for opening, mid-shift or closing in accordance with company standards

- Keep manager promptly informed of all issues or unusual matters of significance

- Keep abreast of policies and procedures and current developments in local, state, and federal laws applicable to the service of alcohol, safe food handling, health standards etc.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Maintains full knowledge of menus, craft beers on tap, recipes, products, and other pertinent information in order to answer questions from guests

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests, vendors, and coworkers in a professional manner

- Excellent verbal and telephone skills to be able to communicate clearly and effectively with our guests

- Possess the ability to multi-task and manage stressful circumstances associated with a fast-paced work environment

- Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures

- Ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment


Experience:

- 1 year (Preferred)
