 Tampa Bay Brewing Company, is seeking a full-time Sales & Marketing Coordinator & Brand Ambassador to join our brewery sales team. This new position will share time working between our unCorporate office and in-the-field in Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties, executing our sales and brand building strategies.  

Qualified candidates must have a passion for independent craft beer (Naturday drinkers need not apply), exceptional communication, time-management, and people skills, and a professional background in marketing, corporate communications, social media management, and/or sales preferred.

The position is full-time salaried, based out of our Westchase unCorporate office. General hours are Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, however due to the demands of this role, early morning, evenings, and weekend work will be part of the routine.  Additionally, it's important that he/she should live within the market area and have a reliable car. 

  • Work within the unCorporate Office ~24 Hours Per Week:

    • Collaborates with regional sales managers on the marketing and support for off-site events. Maintains a calendar of upcoming activities, ensures events are properly promoted via social media, and that necessary equipment is in working order and available for use. 

    • Assists the Director of sales with building and maintaining relationships with media and industry influencers. Maintains our contact database, monitors editorial calendars, responds to inquiries, ships product samples for reviews and awards. 

    • Contributes to fulfillment operations by coordinating orders for marketing materials such as tap handles, signage, and permanent POS. 

    • Maintains the TBBC wholesaler online portal, VIP, and untappd beer databases with current and accurate product information, new item forms, and seasonal plans.

    • Assists the Director of sales with planning and execution of our premier on-site events, including Bad A** Beerfest and Fire & Beer. 

    • Plays a leading role in the establishment, rollout, and ongoing execution of our forthcoming retail education and certification program.

    • Regularly contributes content to our social media and e-newsletter platforms, runs routine analytical reports and reports to stakeholders on trends and opportunities. 

    • Helps plan and execute new beer releases within our taprooms, coordinating with brewery production staff and front of house management. 

    • Acts as the point of contact and in-house facilitator for donation requests. Collects requests, performs initial vetting, coordinates managerial/ownership review of requests on a monthly basis. Collects and distributes donated items (merchandise, gift cards, etc..).

    • Coordinates weekly taproom music program. Manages our rotating calendar, books new musicians, coordinates contracts and payment with our accounting department, and promotes acts via social media and on site.

 

  • Brand Ambassador in the market - ~16 Hours Per Week

    • Provides in-market support to retail accounts serviced by Pepin and Great Bay, our largest distributor partners servicing Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. 

    • Visit retail accounts as specified by our regional sales managers and director of sales in an effort to provide excellent and proactive customer service. 

    • Educates retail employees about current and forthcoming TBBC products and initiatives. 

    • Gathers news/intelligence from account visits with an eye toward improving service and sales.

    • Logs visits into our CRM and briefs respective sales manager(s) on immediate opportunities.

    • Ensures any required follow up action is performed in a timely manner. 

    • Complete product samplings and other on-site events as necessary, including night and weekend events.

    • Represents TBBC at select beer festivals and other industry gatherings. 

    • Helps identify new accounts / opportunities for our regional sales managers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Must LOVE craft beer and be willing to defend it. (we’ll know if you’re bull shitting us).

  • Flexible schedule, must be able to routinely work nights and weekends and respond to communication after hours. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to comfortably engage with strangers, listen carefully, ask thoughtful / probing questions, and take detailed notes for follow up.

  • Technologically savvy. Must be fluent with Microsoft Office and Google Suite, mobile apps for scheduling, and social media for personal/business communication.

  • Cicerone Certified Beer Server (or be willing to complete exam within 6 weeks of hire date)

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and operate within often tight confines such as a walk-in cooler.

Preferred Background(s):

  • Professional communications / marketing / writing experience

  • Beer industry experience (brewery, retail, bar)

  • Basic web publishing, social media page management

  • Local knowledge of greater Tampa / St. Pete

  • Sales and/or other brand ambassador experience
